Save Time and Money When Shipping Christmas Gifts

The stress of finding the perfect Holiday gifts for all your loved ones doesn't have to be compounded by those long lines at the post office, a lost package, or a late gift. At PostNet we give you the option to ship packages via UPS, FedEx, and the US Postal Service. That way you can compare shipping rates and delivery guarantees between all major carriers and choose the option that's right for you. Here are a few tips from PostNet to help you avoid any unnecessary shipping nightmares this season. 

1. Pack Properly. The packaging experts at PostNet can help make sure your gift arrives in one piece, but if you are packing a gift yourself, make sure you do it right. A good rule of thumb is to make sure a package could be dropped at least a few feet without damaging it or its contents. You can buy shipping boxes, anti-static packing peanuts that are safe for electronics, bubble wrap, tape, and anything else you may need from PostNet. Tell us what you are packing and we'll help you pick out what you need to pack it right.

2. Send To Workplaces. If packages are delivered to a home and the delivery is repeatedly missed, the recipient runs the risk of ending up going out of their way to pick up the package at the shipping company’s nearest hub. Aside from the convenience factor, shipping to an office can also prevent theft.

4. Shipping Insurance. There is more mail traveling the world this time of year than at any other. More packages being shipped inevitably means that more will get lost. Ask us about shipping insurance, even if you've never had any problems before, especially if you're shipping electronics, expensive or fragile gifts. The cost is minimal and it will provide you with extra peace of mind.

5. Plan Ahead. You can always overnight, but be prepared to pay extra. Compared to overnighting, ground shipping is cheap, and it's better for the environment too. The deadline for ground shipping with UPS and FedEx is coming up, it's this Friday, December 16th.
