3 Spring Cleaning Tips for Small Businesses

Spring is in the air, and with it, comes a great opportunity to give your small business a good spring cleaning. But, keep in mind, a professional spring cleaning is more than just vacuuming the floors and taking out the trash. It’s a process that should be productive and strategic, and of course, refreshing too! Below are three tips to get you cleaning in the right direction.

1. Digitize Old Documents

Whether you have a home office or a storefront, your physical workspace should be a clean environment. If you have mounds of papers piling up or your file folders are bursting at the seams, it might be a good time to clean out your files and convert your important paper documents into digital files. It not only will free up much-needed physical storage space, but it can make the process of retrieving and sharing files more efficient. Also, you will have peace of mind knowing you have safe, secure digital copies of all your important paper-based documents in the event of a fire or national disaster.

2. Refresh Marketing Materials

Have you seen a decline in business? Did a new competitor just open up across the street? Are your marketing materials a bit stale? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, now would be a good time to visit with your local PostNet to refresh your marketing materials (e.g. business cards, brochures, flyers, signs, etc). Our graphic design and print professionals will help ensure your print marketing collateral is relevant, impactful, and most importantly, meeting your business goals and objectives.

3. Update Business Forms

Overtime, business addresses, emails, logos, products, processes or other important business information change, which require business forms to be updated. Common business forms include printed invoices, contracts, receipts, purchase orders, work orders, service agreements and medical forms. Although it may be tempting to make a copy-of-a-copy of a business form you use on a regular basis, white out outdated information on a document or put a sticker over an outdated logo, your business documents are a reflection of your company. If you don’t keep your business forms updated, customers may think other areas of your business are lagging as well.

By digitizing old documents and refreshing dated marketing materials and business forms, your business will be in a much better place to grow and expand this spring season! Remember: The grass is greener where you water it.
